  • The open position of Digital Learning Design Apprentice will sit within our Subsurface Imaging division, and offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to undertake the Level 3 Award and Diploma in Digital Learning and Design
  • Reporting to the HSE Global Manager and working alongside the Quality Advisor, we are looking for a driven, creative individual to develop their skills in creating and leading the development of many exciting multimedia projects
  • Using your passion for graphic design and visuals, we are looking for someone to create bespoke e-learning courses, which will include responsibility for storyboarding bespoke e-learning solutions, the production of motion graphics and flash animations, the creation of artwork and directing and editing internal training videos

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Artistic skills and vision, to create artistic graphic elements (drawings, icons etc.)
  • Good grasp of photo and text editing and manipulation within a professional photo editing platform (e.g. Adobe Photoshop/Corel PaintShop Pro)
  • Ideally you will also have experience in creating graphical elements from scratch as vector using a professional package (Adobe Illustrator/Corel Draw) (desirable)
  • Practised skills in animating logos or character (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Captivate or other e-learning development platforms will be beneficial
  • Experience in recording and editing audio through a digital audio workstation (desirable)

Qualifications required

  • Minimum of C Level or above in 5 GCSE’s or equivalent qualification

Future prospects

This opportunity will expose the successful candidate to a range of exciting multimedia projects, which will develop their skills in graphic design, artwork, storyboarding and video filing and editing. In additional to the creative and design skills you will develop, the Digital Learning Design Apprentice will also learn and develop skills in project management, team work, communication and meeting deadline. The opportunity to complete the Level 4 qualification may also be available in the future.

Things to consider

From April 1st 2017 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training. Salary for this role is £12,000 - £13,000 per annum
