    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • Working week

    Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturday work. Hours normally 8.15 – 4.30 however could also include late evening until 7.30pm. 45 min lunch.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing chair side support to the dentist for a range of treatments inc Cosmetic Dental Procedures Dental Implants and Teeth Whitening.
  • Cross infection control in line with HTML01-05.
  • Patient care and support.
  • Other dental nursing duties.
  • Your duties will also include Reception cover including answering the phone, booking appointments money handling.
  • You will work as part of an experienced team with support from the Head Nurse and Practice Manager.

Future prospects

Qualified Nurses can continue training to do additional duties within the practice, Radiography, Oral health education, Taking Impressions. Or train further to become Hygienists or Therapist.

About the employer

Chellaston Dental Practice is a small 2 surgery practice within the village of Chellaston and was opened in 1987. The current Owners purchased the practice in 2013. We have 4 Lady Dentists who work part-time at the practice offering all aspects of dentistry:-Cosmetic crowns & Fillings, Implants, Fixed braces and Invisalign also Botox and lip enhancements.
