Your main duties will be:

  • To learn how to perform routing maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is required
  • To learn how to read engineering drawings and specifications and to plan layout, assembly and welding operations
  • To learn how to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job
  • To learn how to lie out, position and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications
  • To learn how to pre-heat and clean metals, lie out, cut and fit materials for welding
  • To learn how to select proper welding heat and proper type and size of electrodes for correct penetration and strength of welded metals
  • To learn how to carry out flat, vertical and horizontal welding, coat non ferrous metals, inspect, brush and grind welds
  • To learn how to develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
  • To learn how to inspect equipment, structures and materials to identify the cause of any errors or other problems or defects
  • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and mobile whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials

​​​​Physical requirements: Stand for long periods of time. To make fast, simple, repeated movements of the finders, hands and wrists. To keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position. To quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects. To see details at close range. To quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions. To bend, stretch, twist or reach with the body, arms and/legs.
