You will join a new and exciting group of Apprentices within a world leading manufacturing organisation, supplying the Worldwide Automotive Industry. For the duration of the Apprenticeship, you will spend your time gaining practical experience and developing your theoretical knowledge, along with obtaining formal qualifications, which are recognised and fully transferrable within the manufacturing sector.   

You will be working in multiple manufacturing areas within the business, which are fast paced and can be physically demanding, producing finished components to a high quality standard and to strict deadlines.

You will perform production related tasks and processes to the highest quality, relying on your excellent attention to detail. You will need excellent communication skills as well as the ability to follow instructions and work within a team. You will have a keen sense of achievement and take pride in the work you undertake and produce.

You will be: 

  • Producing components to a high standard

  • Quality checking of finished parts

An Apprenticeship in Performing Manufacturing Operations is designed to help you progress your career within the manufacturing industry. The qualifications are related to jobs roles such as: Manufacturing Operator, Technician or Team Leader within a wide range of manufacturing disciplines For the successful apprentices, there will be opportunities for permanent positions after the completion of the apprenticeship and a potential to develop an amazing career in a worldwide organisation

Things to consider

The initial training programme will require dayshift working for the first 5 weeks and will commence onsite Shift work will be required along with undertaking of the training programme and work placement training Shift patterns will be communicated with adequate notice and will include morning, afternoon, or nightshifts. (Please see below) You may be required to bank hours occasionally to support production peaks and troughs Training Day Shift: (Onsite) Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 16:30 Friday 8:00 to 14:00 Rotation shift hours: Monday to Friday 06:00-14:00 14:00-22:00 22:00-06.00 Subject to departmental variations Apprentices are eligible for a shift premium allowance of 18.33% and overtime Overtime would be paid at: Mon – Fri 1.33 x hourly rate Sat 1.5 x hourly rate Sun 2 x hourly rate The National Minimum Wage for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. This role pays above the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices Reality Check: • Repetitive role • Working in a manufacturing environment that can be: Loud/Fast Paced with the need to meet targets/deadlines, some jobs will involve getting dirty • Will involve unsociable working hours • The individual must be prepared to work all shift patterns • Role will involve physical tasks • Must be able to follow instructions every time to ensure the quality of the product is consistent • Will be standing all day • You must be able to travel to the training and vacancy location on a daily basis. Please note that car-pooling is an option on offer
