    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

We are currently recruiting Shop Assistants to join our team in Bamber Bridge.

Duties and responsibilities would include:

  • Maximise sales by delivering excellent customer service
  • Merchandising stock onto the shelves to deliver the best availability
  • Rotating stock to ensure legal compliance
  • Controlling and replenishing stock levels
  • Till operation and cash handling
  • Ensuring that all store standards including customer service, health and safety, and food and hygiene are maintained, making the store a safe place to shop
  • General cleaning duties to ensure a clean and safe environment

Key Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience in retail would be an advantage
  • Courteous and helpful
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to comply with defined process and procedures
  • Genuine enthusiasm for customer service
  • Flexibility and positive attitude

30 hours - may involve working evenings and weekends.
