Main Duties to include:

  • Liasing with clients
  • Liaising with HMRC under supervision
  • Running Cloud based accounting software (xero)
  • Processing business transactions – accounts payable/receivable/expenses
  • Progressing to preparation of sole trader, partneship & limited company accounts
  • Assisting with the preparation of compiling self assessment tax returns
  • Assisting with the preparatin of payroll and vat returns
  • Dealing with day to day telephone/email /filing /queries/post etc

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Computer literate particularly outlook, excel and word (accounting software training will be provided)
  • Ability to work independently, own initiate, ability to identify and resolve discrepancie
  •  Familiarity with accounting procedures such as journals/double entry book-keeping
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications required

  • You will need a minimum of GCSE grade C in Maths and English.
  • Additional Accountancy qualifications a bonus

Full time role within the company once the apprenticeship has finished.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
