    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage rates are £4.05 an hour for 16 - 17 year olds, £5.60 an hour for 18 - 20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship(usually one day per week).

  • Working week

    9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch break. 37.5 hrs per week You will be workling on a rota 5 of 6 days a week. This is between Monday to Saturday – [Saturdays will be on a rota basis with a day off in the week]

As a Mechanical Apprentice at Funbikes, your responsibilities would typically include: 

  • Building Quads, bikes and all other vehicles we sell
  • Fault finding and fixing faults
  • Customer service and queries
  • Diagnostics and repairs
  • Loading and unloading of stock from containers
  • Dispatching

Things to consider

You will be working Monday to Saturday. Saturdays will be on a rota basis with a day off in the week A National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices has been introduced for young people aged 16-18 and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. The current rate is £3.50 per hour with effect from 1st April 2017 The new NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship Interview date and possible start date are only a guideline.
