As part of a IT Apprenticeship, you’ll gain practical experience, training towards industry recognised Microsoft, CompTIA and ITIL qualifications all whilst earning between £15,000 - £18,000 depending on experience.

Who you’ll work for

The Kent based employer is a leading independent and privately-owned IT Solutions provider. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to expanding their team by employing an Apprentice IT Support Engineer

As an Apprentice IT Support Engineer, you could be involved in a number of different functions, providing great variety within the position. Your main functions will include supporting the sales team technically, helping design customer solutions, verifying quotations technically and dealing with suppliers. Secondly, you will be providing services to customer where there are two tracks for this are:

  • Virtualisation, storage and cloud environments. These are VMware, HPE 3PAR and Microsoft Azure.
  • Retail/POS environment primarily based around Microsoft products.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting sales team with technical quotes
  • Help design IT solutions for customers
  • Work on site at customer locations where required
  • Support customers in managing and building systems on site

As part of your role, you must be willing to travel as there could also be a large portion of your time spent in on clients sites in North London.

We’re looking for an IT-enthusiast with:

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolution
  • Good time management skills, self-disciplined, can work as a team and independent
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Full driving license required. DBS checks will be carried out.

Training will be given as part of the apprenticeship but if you have skills on Microsoft products already it will be an advantage, such as:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and above skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft SCCM expertise

Personal qualities

We’re looking for an IT-enthusiast with:

Qualifications required

You don’t need loads of professional experience in IT. However, you’ll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) of grades A*-C (or new grading of 4-9) including Maths, English and IT / Science.

By working hard and demonstrating your ability, drive and commitment throughout your 13 month apprenticeship scheme, upon completion you will be offered a permanent contract ensuring you have further opportunities to continue growing within this exciting organisation.

Things to consider

Overtime payable where applicable, possible bonus based on company performance. The apprentice will spend a large part of their time work in the new Tottenham Hotspurs stadium.
