Kier Group, a leading construction, property, residential and services group with over 22,000 employees, is looking to recruit an Recruitment Assistant Apprentice to support the Kier Resourcing and Early Careers team based at our Head office in Tempsford, Bedfordshire. 

As part of the corporate HR function, the Kier Resourcing and Early Careers team are responsible for helping the business find suitable people to fill their vacancies. We work with all divisions of Kier and source candidates for positions ranging from Graduates through to Senior Management. 

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Management of the recruitment system; raising vacancies, advertising positions, filtering CVs and creating offers
  • First point of contact for recruitment related enquiries
  • Maintenance of team email inboxes
  • Scheduling interviews and sending out email confirmations
  • Co-ordinating recruitment assessment centres
  • Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts
  • Ordering and maintaining stationery and equipment
  • Raising Purchase Orders and ensuring the procurement procedures are followed
  • Taking minutes during meetings and distributing to relevant parties
  • Creating documents and reports in preparation for meetings
  •  Involvement with various projects as required
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate in order to support the team and provide career development
  • Produce documents, correspondence, presentations as well as maintain records and spreadsheets using a variety of software packages

  • A driving licence and vehicle is beneficial due to location of the head office and occasional travel, but not essential

Qualifications required

4 GCSE’s grades A-C’s (or equivalent) including Maths and English

Training provider

Approximately 11% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 9% is done in the workplace, through online training, face-to-face meetings with your QA Technical Skills Coach, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
