We are looking for an enthusiastic trainee dental nurse to join our team at Broad Walk Dental.

We are a busy 5 surgery practice providing mostly NHS treatment with a growing private list.

No experience necessary as full training will be provided.

Candidates will be required to complete a Level 3 qualification in Dental Nursing involving a tutor, as well as  travelling to take exams and undertake any training which cannot be provided on site.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Assisting the dentists and hygiene therapist in surgery
  • High standard of infection control
  • Decontamination of surgery and instruments
  • Stocking up and maintaining organisation within the surgery and decontamination room
  • Ordering stock for your surgery
  • Greeting patients and making them feel welcome and at ease
  • Opening up and closing down of surgery and decontamination room daily
  • Decontaminating lab work and organising the sending and receiving to the laboratory
  • Reception duties may be required - greeting patients, making appointments, taking payments, answering the phone etc
  • Candidate must be reliable, flexible and able to fit in well with our large team.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
