The successful apprentice will be responsible for undertaking the following roles

  • Providing support and work closely with the Procurement Manager
  • To assist with procurement processes and maintain accurate records and contract files
  • To develop relationships with suppliers, promote positive working relationships and ensure excellent customer service
  • To provide support to the care homes and assist with resolution of queries relating to contractual agreements and identify any potential arising requirements
  • To collate feedback from internal and external stakeholders relating to suppliers performance
  • To provide reports, prepare and develop documentation as required
  • To keep up to date with developments in procurement working methods
  • To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job and to participate in appropriate training activities
  • To undertake such other duties, training and or hours of work as may be resonably required and which are consistent with the level of responsibility of this job

  • Proficient in the use of MS office applications such as word, excel, outlook and the internet
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to understand and meet deadlines

  • Experience in drafting, editing and updating files and keeping excellent autiable documents
  • Experience working within purchasing or procurement function
  • Ability to prepare and present reports for senior management

  • Knowledge and understanding of the complexities of decentralised purchasing
