    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

This is a great opportunity to work within a growing business, to work towards a Level 2 Business Admin NVQ qualification.

The duties would include:

  • Organising dispatch – DPD, TNT & Parcelforce labels
  • Preparing eBay orders for dispatch (pre made signs, stickers etc)
  • Helping in the print production & admin departments where necessary

Things to consider

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices has been introduced for young people aged 16-18 and those aged over 19 in the first year of their apprenticeship. The new rate is £3.50 per hour. The new NMW rate applies to working time plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.
