We are looking for someone with good IT skills, a willingness to learn and attention to detail who can support the practice manager with the day to day administrative tasks.

    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • Initially to provide administrative support to the Practice Manager
  • To undertake office reception duties, both in person and on the telephone, including taking messages for the team.
  • To operate computerised office systems, for example maintaining databases, filing and retrieving information & documents using our back office system
  • To undertake general office duties, for example;
  • dealing with the post and e-mail;
  • scanning and filing documentation;
  • managing diaries;
  • drafting and sending standard letters;
  • preparation of files for reporting;
  • arranging for documents to be printed;
  • liaising with clients and product providers

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good IT skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Ability to express themselves clearly in both writing and verbally

Personal qualities

  • Ability to work efficiently under own initiative with attention to detail

Qualifications required

There are no set entry requirements, however you would be expected to have GCSEs/S Grades (A-C/1-3) in Mathematics and English or equivalent

Future prospects

Possible progression towards a trainee financial services administrator and if appropriate trainee paraplanner, fully supported by the company

Upward negotiation on salary to be discussed at interview depending on the skills and aptitude of individual applicants.
