    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Qualifications required

CYPW Level 2 or equivalent is preferred. 

Grade A-C in GCSE Maths and English is desirable but not essential.

Future prospects

When you have successfully completed your Apprenticeship, you may have the opportunity to continue with an exciting career in childcare! Preferably you will already have your Level 2 in childcare and are ready to progress onto your Level 3 with us. However, we may be open to the right candidate who may not hold Level 2.

About the employer

Bowden House nursery is a unique family run day care nursery which was established in 2005, and is nestled in the heart of Marple. The nursery is in a residential area with its own car park for safe, secure drop offs. For over 10 years we have put lots of time and energy into building close personal relationships with our parents and children in order to provide the best child care and day care education possible. Parents can choose from a number of nurseries in Marple but like our location, private car park and ease of access to Stockport and other areas in Cheshire as well as recommendations from friends and family about our childcare.
