    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage rates are £4.05 an hour for 16 - 17 year olds, £5.60 an hour for 18 - 20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship(usually one day per week).

  • Provide 1st line support for the Network Team.
  • Ensure that all main ICT rooms have working computers, keyboards & mice on a routinely basis.
  • Administrate user accounts for pupils and members of staff.
  • Ensure that requests for support are dealt with in a prompt manner, and that staff are kept informed of progress through the service desk.
  • Assist the IT Technicians in maintaining and administrating the schools online systems i.e.  VLE, MyEd Parent App, Website, Social Media, etc.
  • Assist the Network Team with the updating and maintenance of the school asset register for IT equipment.
  • Assist the IT Technicians with the maintenance and installation of consumables for printers / projectors / etc.
  • Assist the IT Technicians with the diagnosis and repairs of hardware.
  • Prepare and set up Audio / Video equipment for assembly usage when needed.

Requirements and prospects

  • Eagerness to develop skills and a keen interest in IT.
  • Basic knowledge of PC Hardware / Software & Printers.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to communicate and co-operate effectively with the Network Team.
  • Ability to organise effectively.

Qualifications required

  • Educated to GCSE or an equivalent standard.
