The key focus will be training to eventually operate state of the art zinc diecasting and robotic production machines ensuring high quality products are produced in a timely manner, which will include:

  • Operating diecasting machines & robots
  • Carrying out product & process tests
  • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the machines & shop floor
  • Maintaining 5S excellence with a safe working environment at all times, free from clutter and potential dangers to self and others
  • Ensuring quality standards are met
  • Actively participating in any/all continuous improvement activates
  • Performing any additional tasks within capabilities as directed by the Production

PMS Diecasting Ltd is located at: Unit 11 Braithwell Way, Hellaby, Rotherham, S66 8QY The Sheffield College is located at: Granville Road, Sheffield, S2 2RL The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
