Overall purpose of the apprenticeship:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a multi skilled maintenance engineer apprentice. The ideal candidate, preferably with a desire to work with in the ‘Mechatronics’ sector will develop logically through experience and become an integrated member of the CWG team.

The role involves monitoring and optimising the manufacturing process, trouble shooting problems, carrying out preventative maintenance and repairs with strict regards to Health & Safety.

Once you have completed your apprenticeship you will have the valuable experience, qualifications and opportunities to further your career within the company.

  1. At all times ensure safe plant and machinery, safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances.
  2. Carry out the daily scheduled factory maintenance program.
  3. Record and store maintenance records for all jobs undertaken.
  4. Liaison as necessary with other organisations and relevant departments, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
  5. To assist in the factories programme of continuous improvement in product quality to ensure a sustained rising of standards.
  6. Demonstration of analytical problem-solving capability in a production environment.

Qualifications required

GCSE’s in Maths, English and ICT at Grade C or above. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.

Future prospects

Possibility of progression or a full time position may be offered on successful completion of your apprenticeship.

Training provider

Apprenticeship training will be provided via day release to Tresham College in Corby.

Candidates will work to achieving the Intermediate  qualification, which is made up of the following:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
  • Functional skills (Level 1 in Maths, English and ICT)
  • Personal Learning & Thinking Skills
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
  • Monthly onsite assessments will be carried out by a Tresham Assessor
