Futures Apprenticeships is advertising for an Advanced Apprentice Surveyor on behalf of Ashe Construction in Lutterworth, Leicestershire (LE17 4HB), on a 2 year fixed term training programme.

Ashe Construction manages the design and construction of buildings for public and private sector clients nationwide. With offices based in Hertfordshire and Leicestershire they serve a great diversity of markets and industries.
Whilst undertaking your Apprenticeship, you will be fully supported by your college tutor, in addition to gaining excellent support and guidance from your employer. You will receive on the job training and time off to attend college whilst you work towards your qualification, if this is required.

The duties for this role include:

  • Attending project and internal meetings
  • Attending internal reviews and pre-order meetings
  • Performing risk management, value management and cost control
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risk
  • Compiling monthly management meeting reports
  • Assisting with managing the financial performance of the project
  • Preparation and analysis of costings for tenders
  • Preparation of tender and contract documents
  • Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies
  • Assisting in compiling Management cost reports
  • Profitability and profit forecasting
  • Allocating work to sub-contractors


A full driving license is desirable but not essential and car parking is available on site for applicants who have access to their own transport.

The employer is looking at a provisional start date of the end of October 2017.

Qualifications required

Past apprentices have gone on to secure permanent employment with their host employer at the end of their apprenticeship. There is a possibility that this may happen to you, if positions become available.

Things to consider

You must be able to travel to the employer's premises in Lutterworth on a daily basis for your work and training. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
