    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The duties of an IT Apprentice is varied and would include:

  • To learn and proactively implement the Companies policies and procedures
  • Dealing with customer enquiries for PC and Technical issues
  • Using Team Viewer to dial in to the customer to ass
  • Assisting with IT issues within the office - software and email.
  • To install and configure software applications
  • Liaising with IT Support at Head Office for issues that cannot be dealt with on site
  • To assist with the purchase, setting up, maintenance and repair ofcomputers, audio-visual equipment, computer-linked equipment andcomputer-related equipment.
  • To maintain satisfactory standards of safety and security in relation tocomputer rooms and equipment.
  • To be aware of and abide by the Companies health and safety procedures and
  • associated polices.

  • To assist in any other duties within the business when required.
