    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Duties include:

  • Contributing to the Company's profitability by providing administrative support to the Business Training Team
  • Process all course enquiries received via the National Apprenticeship Service, emails, telephone calls and the CTG website
  • Answer incoming telepone calls and deal with queries promptly
  • Invite candidates in for weekly information sessions by telephone and emailing confirmation
  • Call candidates regarding information sessions to confirm/remind them of their appointment
  • Maintain information session registers and record the information session attendance
  • Carry out information sessions by preparing paperwork and photocopying candidate certificates and identification
  • Assist Head of Business Training in confirming and arranging candidate interviews
  • Maintain up to date vacancies/advertisements on recruitment board and the National Apprenticeship Service
  • Prepare start packs in line with audit requirements
  • Input learner reviews onto PICS and Learning Assistant
  • Produce and distribute monthly review lists to the training team
  • Liase and follow up learners requiring to produce certificates and identification
  • Take minutes from team meetings
  • Maintain learner files in line with audit requirements including filing learner evidence, examination bookings, certificates and reviews
  • Carry out learner interviews at information sessions
  • Update and maintain info on candidate interviews and starts via Trello
  • Send new learner details to the training team
  • Update and maintain start trackers
  • Scan completed start packs to admin team
  • Check learner educational achievements
  • Process all applications from the National Apprenticeship Service
  • Attend careers events

Requirements and prospects

  • Driving licence and own transport is desirable
