Provide accounting and administration services for Reinsurance Technical Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate weekly reports for review with Head of Section.
  • Process technical entries.
  • Maintain scanning and DMS Mailbox documents received from Underwriting units.
  • Liaising with internal and external clients.

General Duties and Tasks:

Technical processes :

  • Setting up records on the Technical system. o
  • Updating Signed lines in FAB. o
  • Reviewing slips, endorsements, closings, general documentation received within AGS for technical update in systems.

Credit Control processes:

  • Running weekly reports for Head of Section.
  • Provide statements of account to brokers and clients.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients with Head of Section or Technician.
  • Support Head of Section

Controlling processes:

  • Help in the production of Excel spreadsheets for analysis of work performed by Controllers.

General administration including ad hoc projects

Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.

Qualifications required

5 GCSEs including Mathematics & English or equivalent.

2 years further education at A Level or BTEC.

If you have left education you would need a solid work history and you would need to provide rough dates for all employment

Future prospects

This position is initially a 12 month contract; however a permanent position may be available for the right person.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

Training provider

As a Financial Services Apprentice with Kaplan, you will complete the General Insurance qualification, of which we deliver Level 3 (CII Certificate) .

The completion of the General Insurance qualification will be completed via the Live Online learning platform and on a 1:1 basis within workplace with an Assessor, there are no college days as all study is completed independently and within the work place.

Apprenticeships will include the NVQ, Technical Certificate and ERR workbook.
