Future prospects

When the candidate completes the apprenticeship there will be a position within the sales department for them to continue their employment with Imperial Commercials. There are often positions within the organisation that are advertised internally that employees are able to apply for. We always encourage further education, if the candidate would like to further their education with Derby College they would be encouraged to do so.

Things to consider

This position will involve long periods of working on the computer, however, this time can be broken up with other administration duties such as filing. The candidate will have quarterly reviews with their mentor where their learning will be discussed and objectives set for the next quarter. This is to keep a close check on their learning within the organisation and the college and to generally ensure the candidate is happy within their role. The vacancy is based at the Derby branch of Imperial Commercials. In time there may be the request to travel to either our Nottingham or Sutton sites. If the candidate is able to drive, they may be required to help with vehicle deliveries – this will be in a company vehicle after a safety check has been carried out. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
