The Park Hotel have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join the team.  You will work as part of the kitchen team preparing and finishing food from a varied menu.

As an Apprentice Chef with The Park Hotel you will be required to:

  • Prepare, cook and present food quickly to our brand standard efficiently to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
  • Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all times
  • Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor/deal with any maintenance issues
  • Keep up to date with new products, menus and promotions
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and licensing laws

Desired skills

  • Experience of working in a kitchen would be beneficial however not essential.
  • Good practical skills.

Qualifications required

No previous qualifications required however you must have a minimum standard of Numeracy & Literacy skills to be accepted onto the apprenticeship.  Your Numeracy & Literacy levels will be assessed at the interview stage.

Future prospects

We are looking to recruit an apprentice who can progress into a full time permanent member of the team. We are looking to train an apprentice in all aspects of being a Chef. It is expected that on completion of your Level 2 qualification you would progress onto a higher level qualification.

Things to consider

Working in the Hospitality & Catering industry is rewarding but demanding. You must understand that this role will require you to regularly work evenings, weekend and public holidays.

About the employer

The Park Hotel is a busy pub and dining restaurant based on the outskirts of Wigan. Our menu is based around traditional pub grub dishes using fresh ingredients where possible. We are a busy establishment and are currently expanding the range of food that we offer.
