    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

In this role you will be responsible for the following day to day tasks:

  • Providing table service and taking orders.
  • Preparing food.
  • Ensuring all duties are completed within set time scales.
  • Ensuring that company standard of Hygiene, Health & Safety, Fire & Security are complied with.

  • You will need to have the ability to plan and prioritise and the ability to work flexible times including some weekends.

Personal qualities

  • You will need to be able to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and have good attention to detail.

Qualifications required

  • You will need to have a good standard of English with GCSE grades A* to C or equivalent. You will need to complete Functional Skills in these areas in order to complete your Apprenticeship.

Future prospects

There may be the opportunity for permanent employment following your apprenticeship.

Things to consider

This will be a fast paced role where you will be on your feet for a lot of the day. You will be expected to be well presented and have a high standard of personal hygiene.
