Bushmead Primary School caters for children aged 4 to 11 years old. As a Teaching Assistant in our school, your duties will include:

  • Following agreed lesson plans to support the teaching and learning of individual or groups of pupils.
  • Contributing to the development of pupils.
  • Contributing to the planning of teaching and learning for the class and/or for individual pupils.
  • Working closely with class teachers.
  • Attending meetings and providing feedback.
  • Working with children during lunch time.

Things to consider

As this is a term-time only role, it is expected that the post holder will take annual leave during the school holidays. The role may involve lifting of children and equipment. There may also be the requirement to clear up after a pupil has been ill or had a spillage/toileting accident.

About the employer

Bushmead Primary School caters for children from 4 to 11 years of age and was formed in September 2000 following the amalgamation of the Bushmead Infant and Junior schools. The current school building is a combination of the former Infant and Junior school buildings and an extension which joined both schools in 1999. The facilities within the building include two school halls, two ICT suites and 27 classrooms. Additionally, there are five mobile classrooms one of which is used as a Music room.
