You will learn the importance of providing finance administrative duties, gain invaluable insights into how employer organisations work, learn how to produce business documents and much more. You will also discover how to build and develop relationships with other departments and collate and report data.


Provide administrative support for the finance team all areas of finance department, with particular focus on cash and bank & some aspect of bookkeeping and purchase ledger.


  • Preparing, recording and processing financial data
  • Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the financial controller and CFO. This includes linking financial and non financial data to analyse performance
  • Maintaining and updating weekly finance report to distribute to other departments;
  • Assisting finance team in cost analysis, benchmarking
  • Assisting with the preparation and posting of month end journals and updating the P&L schedule for allocated companies within agreed timeframes.
  • Preparing and administering daily bank postings and assisting with the production of daily bank reconciliations;
  • Assisting FC with reconciliation of loan payments, collection of money via several methods
  • Daily administration of monitoring and checking the cash position level of all retail stores;
  • Daily handling bulk loan payments sent via the Company systems and processing any ad hoc payments;
  • Undertake cash store audit on regular basis
  • Assisting when needed, the daily management of purchase ledger and expenses within specified time frames;
  • Assisting with the processing cash and credit card expenses;
  • Maintenance of the Company petty cash;
  • Carrying out any other ad hoc duties allocated by the Financial Controller and supporting in projects where necessary.

Strong IT working knowledge particularly Excel

Personal qualities

  • Proactive, organised and methodical
  • Analytical skills and natural mathematical skills. (Financial work experience is desirable but not essential)
  • Quick learner, used to working under own initiative and to strict deadlines
  • Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining great attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise is essential

Qualifications required

Minimum of GCSE’s A-C Grade. B grade of above in Maths and English (or equivalent).

‘A’ Levels (with minimum B in Mathematics preferably)

or Part AAT qualified

AAT – Association of Accounting Technicians As an Accountancy Apprentice with Kaplan, you will complete the AAT qualification, of which we deliver Level 2 (Certificate) Level 3 (Diploma) & Level 4 (Diploma). The AAT qualification will be completed at a Kaplan training centre or via the Live Online Learning platform.
