    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Western Business Systems are looking for an apprentice IT Technician/Installer to join its team in the Lancashire area.

This is a varied roll where you will gain experience in all departments within the company.

Successful candidates will need to be excellent communicators who excel both working within a team and also working alone. They will be able to manage their own time and be able to work to a schedule.

Required or beneficial experience in:-

  • Network support in an educational environment
  • Windows desktop operating systems
  • Windows server operating systems
  • Apple Mac setup and integration
  • Infrastructure experience
  • An enhanced DBS check is required for this role, a full clean driving licence would be an asset, as the role will involve travel to primary schools around the region, but it is not essential. The salary is depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
