The role is to assist the Accounts Manager at Port Vale FC on a day-to-day basis. You will be required to carry out general finance and administration duties including:

Duties:

  • Assisting with the general day-to-day duties within the Accounts Department for Port Vale Football Club.
  • Helping to accumulate data for the company accounts including Port Vale Football Club.
  • Supporting, handling and applying of finance matters including creating invoices, raising of purchase orders and all other documents for accounting purposes.
  • Using and co-ordinating SAGE system on a daily basis.
  • Operating and administering the petty cash account.
  • Resolving invoice and payment queries.
  • General housekeeping, scanning, filing and responding to telephone queries.
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and non-match invoice.
  • General office administration.
  • Answer phone in an efficient and friendly manner as a backup for staff member.
  • Supporting the Accounts Manager.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Experience within an accounting environment would be desirable, however full training will be given.

Personal qualities

Experience working with SAGE would be desirable, however full training will be given.

Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel is essential

Qualifications required

5 GSCE’s (Grades A-C) or equivalent
