Apprentice Chef (Professional Cookery) The Golden Lion Hotel
The company are looking to train and develop an Apprentice Chef to work and train under the head Chef. You will carry out all aspects of the kitchen from cleaning, prepping, paperwork, ordering, cooking and presentation, and work alongside the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure smooth running of the kitchen and orders going out to a high spec.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The company are looking train and develop an apprentice Chef working and training under the Head Chef.
Main duties & responsibilities:
- All aspects of the kitchen from cleaning, prepping, paperwork, ordering, cooking and presentation
- Working along side the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth running of the kitchen and all orders going out to a high spec.
Requirements and prospects
Flexible approach to work, good communication skills, able to work under pressure and multi task, good organizational skills, hard working, willing to learn, punctual and reliable
Clean, tidy appearance, trustworthy, honest, team player
No specific qualifications required. However, the appointment will be subject to applicants passing an initial assessment through Blackburn College.
