The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Our Client is looking for an Apprentice Reception Administrator to join their friendly and professional team.
The company are a Surgery based in Swindon, they have been around for many years and as a result have lots of experience to pass on to the successful apprentice. The apprentice will have to be sensitive and caring to the patients’ needs at all times and always be willing to help.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from an experienced team, work towards a well-respected qualification and earn an excellent wage! The successful individual will have the opportunity to progress and grow within a well-respected company.
The job role is varied but the main duties will include:
- Front desk support
- Customer Service , dealing with patients and colleagues
- Answering the telephone
- Booking appointments
- Providing test results to patients
- Registering patients
- Ordering prescriptions
- Scanning documents
- Filings and general office administration
Please note full training will be provided.
The working week will consist of a rota covering, Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:45pm, and 8:00am-12:00pm if working on a Saturday (with a 1 hour lunch). The weekly wage is set at £150, to rise throughout the course of the apprenticeship.
