Much of this role will be talking to customers, drivers, contractors, warehouse, and our own colleagues to get the loads to where they need to be at the time they need to be there.

You’ll also learn to use dedicated computer systems and technology to provide excellent customer service across the board.

Duties:

You will be responsible for managing the movement of goods for a variety of customers across different sectors.  You will learn how to communicate effectively with customers & colleagues & the importance of this.

Purpose:

To undertake a 12 Month period of training in the Logistics Operations to cover Administration, Planning, Routing of Vehicles, Warehousing and associated departments. To include attendance at Head Office for Training

Training:

•Follow training plan dependant on depot to ensure all Learning Outcomes are met over the 12 Month time span

•Carry out the duties of an employee in one area of the business for a period of 6 Months after 12 month training completed

•Attend training for the Certificate in Logistics over the 18 month period in one week blocks at the Head Office

•Attend other depots to enhance training as required

•Become proficient in a range of abilities within the Logistics field.

Health and Safety:

•Maintain a high standard of health & safety at all times

•Wear and use the Personal Protective Equipment provided at all times (If Needed)

Any Other Relevant Duties:

To undertake any other duties within reason associated with a large Logistics distribution centre.

Things to consider

You will need to get yourself to your workplace each and every day in time to start work. Your workplace will be the Nagel Langdons Depot closest to you. We will provide transport to external training venues. We work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is a chance you may be asked to work outside of Monday – Friday 9-5, After your apprenticeship is completed. Logistics is a high pressure, fast paced industry. It’s exciting and adrenaline fuelled. Just remember that we are here to help you make the most of this experience so if you have any problems or concerns tell us at once.
