Reporting to the Nursery Manager, duties will include:

  • To work alongside parents/carers and other professionals to maintain high standards of care and education
  • To use knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and every child matters frameworks to plan and implement learning activities to increase development knowledge
  • To liaise with members of the senior management team to continue to improve practices with in nursery
  • To hold or be willing to obtain, an appropriate first aid certificate
  • To work independently, or alongside others, to create a programme of activities suitable for children
  • To record accidents, incidents and necessary documentation on the desired nursery record forms
  • To ensure the children are collected by someone known to the nursery
  • To develop your role within the team
  • To record and follow correct procedures
  • To adhere to dress code
  • To create high quality teaching and learning environments
  • The successful candidate will come with previous knowledge and experience of nursery practice - ideally with the Level 2 CACHE Diploma for the Children & Young Peoples Workforce. Candidates will be subject to a workplace trial session subject to an offer of employment - this is made subject to a clear DBS check.

Qualifications required

  • Minimum of 4 GCSE or equivalent A-C grades including English and Maths Due to this role being a Advanced Apprenticeship in Childcare the suitable candidate must have completed the Level 2 in Childcare Apprenticeship.

Future prospects

Possibility of full time employment subject to successful completion of Apprenticeship.
