    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Based at our Beeston office, the successful applicant will show a high degree of eagerness to learn and not be afraid to ask questions. They will be expected to be punctual, reliable and professional at all times.

The role will involve learning all of the key electrical and elctronic engineering requirements for the installation and maintenance of electrical communication systems:

  • Installation of systems
  • Testing of systems
  • Maintenance of systems

This will be a Level 2 Apprenticeship to begin with, learning all the key electrical and electronic engineering skills.

Desired skills

Able to solve issues logically and in an organised manner.

Must show some initial competency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, cutters etc.

As some working at height is required, the applicant should be comfortable with this.

Personal qualities

The applicant should be friendly, well presented and polite at all times.

Qualifications required

GCSE's in Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)

Upon successful completion of training, the applicant will become one of our valued technical team

Things to consider

There is the opportunity for the wage to increase throughout the training period of the apprenticeship Some degree of flexible working hours may be required from time to time.
