    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

This is an opportunity of a life time to work in a prestigous salon based in Birmingham City Centre to work with top stylists in the industry and gain invaluable experience with the world of hairdressing. Your training will be based at the salon by our in-house trainers and assessed by Heart of England Training's expert assessor Leila Pearce who will assist you with exams, observations and assessments.

Recruiting and retaining a quality team is essential to our success, which is why we’re always on the look-out for talented individuals to join our ever growing salon teams.

Duties will include:

  • Salon cleaning
  • Shampooing
  • Blow-drying
  • Greeting clients
  • Serving refreshments
  • Organising clients for assessments
  • Offering 5* customer service

Units to be discussed with your assessor and uniform provided after 4 weeks.
