Joining a friendly office, the team work in an open, collaborative environment where it is not uncommon to 'chip in' and assist with tasks to execute the wider objectives of the business. This is a brand-new role as we are a growing business.

The apprentice Office Administrator will be given training, the main duties that will be carried out daily are:

  • Working with a small team in the head office
  • Reporting in to the office manager for daily duties
  • Answering the phone
  • Administrator office duties i.e. using word and excel
  • Writing emails
  • Processing good in and out
  • Keeping stock levels up to date
  • Typing up service and parts proposals
  • Filing/scanning
  • Booking overnight travel/ Flights
  • Data inputting
  • Liaising with suppliers

Requirements and prospects

  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Some knowledge about the construction industry desired, but not essential
  • Willingness to develop knowledge and experience

  • 5 GCSE's A-C (or equivalent)

Future prospects

There is a permanent position available upon completing the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
