Managing and processing motor and personal claims, you’ll listen closely to the customer and what they need – reassuring them and giving them peace of mind at what can be a stressful time.

As well as the customer, you’ll talk to NFU Mutual Agents and relevant third parties to settle claims quickly and efficiently. You will make sure that we are complying with all regulatory and internal systems controls. From the moment you pick up the phone, you’ll make customers feel at ease, giving them the time care and attention they deserve.

You will:

  • Compile, process and record information relating to potential new claims
  • Investigate, assess and evaluate claims, within limits of authority applying criteria to prevent loss and fraud
  • Make and communicate decisions regarding policy cover, liability and quantum Build and maintain relationships with underwriting, Agencies and other NFU Mutual departments, partners and third parties
  • Identify, resolve and escalate complaints and breaches
  • Deliver short term/one-off projects and activities as required

Personal qualities

More than anything it’s outlook and personality that matter, not formal qualifications. Whatever your background, you know what great service looks like, sounds like and feels like. That’s really important to us. Experience in a customer facing role and working as part of a team is desirable (that could mean experience working in retail, a call centre, even hospitality)

Qualifications required

Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C Grades including maths and english

Training provider

Kaplan Financial will provide your training throughout your Apprenticeship. You will work towards an Level 3 NVQ in Financial Services and a CII- Highly recognisable Insurance qualification. A Kaplan assessor will visit you within the work place to support you with your learning. You will be expected to carry out 6-8 hours of independent study outside of work in your spare time. You’ll need to be self motivated and organised to manage your full time role and your apprenticeship qualifications.
