Your working week will be varied but typical roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving communications from customers with issues to be addressed; Log all issues received into our customer relationship management software and delegate to the correct member of staff
  • Managing communications between tutors, customers and schools
  • General Office Administration i.e. Answering phone calls, Managing Mail, Messaging Team Members, Data Entry, Mail Merges and Customer Payments
  • Preparing timetables, checking payments received
  • Ensuring timetables and event schedules are up to date
  • Raising invoices for customers
  • Managing our registration process
  • Marketing and events management

  • Be personable and comfortable dealing with new people including customers and tutors.

Personal qualities

  • Mature attitude – Over time, and on many occasions the candidate will be the first point of contact in the business and needs to manage this in a way to convey the business’ credibility and professionalism.

  • Ability to play a Musical Instrument or an interest in Music would be desirable but not essential

Qualifications required

  • Have a minimum of 5 x GCSEs at grades A*-C including Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • This vacancy is open to candidates aged 18 years old and over

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

About the employer

ACEG provides music tuition to young people. We have a network of music tutors placed in schools across the UK and currently manages 100+ schools which are occupied by around 90+ tutors. The business is directed by husband and wife, Lewis and Melissa Quaye. The day to day running of business operations is coordinated by Sam Richardson, who controls the businesses’ overall service delivery and on boarding of new schools. Sam’s role is largely an administrative one, coordinating the network of tutors who deliver tuition across the UK.
