    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Key operational responsibilities:

  • Learning basic customer service skills and to ensure our service standards meet our customer journey expectations.
  • Using our non-negotiables to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Answering telephones and transferring calls intelligently.
  • General office administrative duties to include ordering stationery, post duties.
  • Canvassing including leaflet dropping, and the use of word to produce canvass letters using mail merge.
  • How to meet and greet clients.
  • Learning how to promote and carry out a successful open house.
  • Applicant Management and learning sales techniques to include open and closed questions to increase income.
  • New business generation.
  • Conduct successful viewings, closing for offers and reporting feedback to the client.
  • Learn how to successfully sell our ancillary products to generate additional income for the company and the individual.   
  • Learning and developing the skills and knowledge to spot new opportunities.

Future prospects

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, this company will be looking to keep the apprentice on full time. There will also be the potential to progress onto higher level apprenticeships.
