We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to train as a car trimmer in our workshop in Wolverhampton

Working as part of our team of 25 trimmers and machinists the apprentice will learn a range of skills which include working with fabrics, vinyl, leather, wood, metals, carpet & plastics. Our team are trained to manufacture high quality components for the classic car market, whereby nearly every item is bespoke, and made to customers specifications, for end-customers throughout the UK and the rest of the world.

Duties will include:

  • Working within health & safety legislation to ensure that a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Keeping all areas of our factory clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring that all materials and components are correctly stored in the appropriate storage areas and are labelled so that they are easily identifiable.
  • Ensuring that all hand tools are used correctly and then returned to the appropriate position on the 'shadow boards'.
  • Cutting materials, including fabrics, vinyl, leather, wood, metals, carpet & plastics, trimming panels, stripping and preparing original interior components ready to be re-covered.
  • Fabrication of our products in our workshops and maintaining quality control procedures.
  • Packaging our finished products ready for despatch to our customers.
  • Installation of our products in customers' vehicles
  • Unloading supplier’s vehicles and ensuring that all in-coming goods are correctly stored.
  • All other duties to ensure that our factory runs to an efficient and safe standard.

Qualifications required

  • To have GCSE Maths and English at grades A-D or equivalent level 1 qualifications in these subjects

Future prospects

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, we are looking to retain the apprentice within our organisation by offering a permanent post subject to performance during the apprenticeship. The opportunities, after the apprenticeship has been completed, are exciting and include the future possibilities of junior management. This apprenticeship is regarded as a stepping stone towards a long term career within our organisation.
