So what is an Apprentice Office Administrator?

Firstly, Office Administrators are busy people so you certainly won’t be bored. This is a varied role where you will split your time completing general office duties and offer support to other departments.

You will be responsible for

  • Answering the telephone,
  • Taking messages and handling customer queries.
  • Organise and maintain customer files
  • Ensuring the database is kept up to date
  • Processing applications
  • Liaise and build a working relationship with other members of the team.

About the team - The new team members will be joining 5 others in the department so you’ll have lots of people to learn from.  It’s a friendly team with some members like Alex Davies who’s a former Hargreaves Lansdown director and shareholder and has been in the investment industry for a number of years.

Location - The office is located is on Broad Plain in Bristol. A great location as there are plenty of places to spend your 1 hour lunch break such as Cabot Circus, Subway, boots as well as many other cafes and shops. Unfortunately there is no onsite parking; we recommend using public transport as local parking is expensive. The office is located 5 minutes away from the train station.

Working hours – 9am – 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch

Dress code – Smart casual

Your responsibilities will vary depending on business volumes, but will typically include a range of administrative functions; processing and checking applications, data entry, liaising with third parties via telephone and email.


Requirements and prospects

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2000 or later, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.

Qualifications required

Maths and English at Grade C (or equivalent) and above desirable although not essential.

Training provider

Apprenticeship NVQ Level 2 Business Administration plus Key (Functional) Skills and Technical Certificate if appropriate.

  • This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college.
  • The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits.
