    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Duties include:

  • Work as part of a team and use materials safely
  • Work flexible across repairs and preparation in the work shop
  • Build amd maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers and managers
  • Follow health and safet proceedures and policys including wearing protective equiptment and looking after working area taking your own and others health and safety in to account
  • Undertake duties as requested to develop in the apprenticeship role
  • Take part in reviews and complete training as required and being able to work independently in the final year of the apprenticeship

Things to consider

Working in a busy garage can be physically and mentally demanding. You will also be expected to keep your work area clean and tidy as well as other areas of the workshop. Due to the location must be able to get to and from work on a daily basis.
