    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Baltic Training are excited to be working with North West Computers to recruit for an IT Apprentice to join their small team based in Little Hoole, Preston.

North West Computers do their very best to help all their customers decide on the right path to take. Whether it is to repair an existing computer, upgrade a piece of hardware or simply buy a new computer and part exchange the existing one along with transferring all the previous data. Some of their products and services include computer recycling, disaster recovery and data cabling.

They are now looking to recruit a confident individual who can use their own initiative to learn the business.

Duties
You will be working alongside existing staff and be mentored and trained to carry out the following duties:

  • Answering telephone queries.
  • Serving customers face-to-face.
  • Dismantling PC systems ready for recycling.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues for customers.

Future prospects

Upon completion of the 12 month programme, there are real progression opportunities available. Along with your employer, you may decide to progress onto our level 4 programme and take your training even further.
