Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Methodical with a high attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a small team as well as on their own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, good IT skills and preferably an interest in science and engineering
  • Good core GCSEs or equivalent are essential

Qualifications required

No experience required as full training will be given however some experience would be beneficial in the fields background.

Candidate should have GCSEs grades A-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English or a Level 2 Engineering qualification including Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English and be able to complete the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.

Future prospects

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity of full time employment upon completion of the advanced apprenticeship if available.

Things to consider

Semi-rural location - please think about how you would travel to work. The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From April 2017 the ANMW was set at £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
