A great opportunity has arisen at HEM Clinical Ultrasound Service LTD. This is a private organisation providing ultrasound services to private and NHS patients. We are looking for a bright and hardworking individual who is keen to get in on the ground floor of a rising healthcare brand. An apprentice at HEM's will experience both clinical and clerical departments.

Clinical work would include:

  • Working directly with patients.
  • Assisting in the ultrasound clinic room.
  • Assisting the sonographer.
  • Uploading patient information to scanner and patient management systems.
  • Infection control practice.

Clerical work would include:

  • Working on reception.
  • Fielding incoming calls.
  • Booking appointments and data entry.

Apprentices are mentored and trained in house by a designated member of the clinic team. After initial induction training, the mentor will meet regularly with the apprentice to discuss and support their daily activities and responsibilities. Additional online mandatory training will be required at start of the apprenticeship in the following topics: Introduction to Information Governance, Infection Control, Basic Life Support, Manual Handling, First Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Mental Capacity and DOLS, Safeguarding Children and Adults, Dignity and Respect, Equality and Diversity.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Business Administration Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Once the apprenticeship has been completed there will be an opportunity for a permanent position with the company to the right candidate. Community ultrasound is a new and exciting market, there is a real prospect of growing a successful healthcare career, with progression opportunities.

Things to consider

ALL persons working at HEM will be subject to an Enhanced DBS criminal record check prior to commencing work with the company. Working within healthcare can be highly emotive. There will be situations where patients may received bad news and subsequently they will react with varied emotions. Staff at HEM are required to show a high level of empathy when dealing with the general public. People working in the clinic will be also required to act as chaperones for intimate examinations. People working within the clinic will also be responsible for supervised infection control practices.
