A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join the busy team as an apprentice in a dynamic fast growing business based in St Austell. 

The successful candidate will primarily be working within the workshop and dealing with customers on a daily basis.

Duties which will include:

  • Dealing with customer and supplier enquiries by telephone and email
  • Communicating with internal customers via face to face, telephone and email
  • Communicating with customers in the office face to face
  • Raising purchase orders
  • Stock control and rotation
  • General administration tasks such as scanning documents, filing, photocopying, typing etc.

The Company is keen to involve the apprentice in all aspects of the Company as a whole. This will be a varied and rewarding role with good prospects for the future.

You will also be required to adhere to data protection and confidentiality procedures in relation to the work you are carrying out. This role will allow you to gain lots of practical skills and experience, develop your career and gain your apprenticeship qualification.

Training provider

You will be trained in the workplace alongside your usual duties and you will be expected to attend college one day a week or on a block release basis.

You will work towards achieving a level 2 apprenticeship in Customer Service including work based and knowledge components, an Employee Rights and Responsibilities qualification, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and if required Functional Skills.

Other information

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
