The Role

Duties will include:

  • To accept goods or services on behalf of the company in a polite and efficient manner.
  • To provide assistance where required, to all deliveries being made to the company.
  • To ensure that all goods received are checked for quality, description, quantity, and are sent to the correct department.
  • To liaise with Logistics or any other department over any queries that may arise from any delivery.
  • To issue materials from the stores to any requesting department, and to ensure that the IT system is updated where necessary.
  • To liaise with supplier representatives where special arrangements have been made for the control of stock held on the company's premises.
  • To liaise with the supply chain planner and/or manager over all issues relating to the correct and accurate control of stock.
  • To carry out all administrative duties as deemed necessary by the goods in, receiving and stores operations.
  • Keep the workbench and tools maintained in a clean and safe condition.

Despatch:

  • To ensure that all manufactured orders received into despatch are checked for accuracy against all relevant paperwork and computer records.
  • To ensure that all required paperwork is generated for each order where necessary.
  • To liaise with Customer Services or Production Control over any queries that may arise.
  • To ensure that all items are correctly packaged and despatched to enable the company to meet all of its delivery objectives and customer requirements.

  • Be prepared to undergo training in all core skills and in areas of logistics.
  • Work towards completion of apprenticeship and relevant training portfolios and necessary documentation.

The successful candidate will study a Level 2 qualification in Warehousing. This will be aided by an Assessor who will carry out all assessments as work based learning, within the workplace.

Hours and wage:
37.75 hours per week. Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00
£153.64 per week

Progression Opportunities
Progression within the warehouse, or option to move into the Admin department, plus option to work at other bases within customer service

No formal qualifications are required, however a good level of Literacy, Numeracy and ICT is required
