Things to consider

As a Barista Apprentice you will work a minimum of 30 hours per week, you may be asked to work up to 40 hours a week (£7.50-£8.50 per hour). This is a physically demanding role in a fast paced environment. There will also be early starts so you will need to live close to the store or have access to transport. From 1st of April 2017 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 or over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. Those between the ages of 19-24 who are in their second year (or third year) need to be paid the National Minimum Wage for their age bracket. In April 2016 the new National Living Wage was implemented and therefore if you are over the age of 25 and in your second or third year of an Apprenticeship you will be entitled to be paid the National Living Wage. About the employer

It happens millions of times each week – a customer receives a drink from a Starbucks barista – but each interaction is unique. It’s just a moment in time – just one hand reaching over the counter to present a cup to another outstretched hand. But it’s a connection. We make sure everything we do honours that connection – from our commitment to the highest quality coffee in the world, to the way we engage with our customers and communities to do business responsibly. From our beginnings as a single store nearly forty years ago, in every place that we’ve been, and every place that we touch, we've tried to make it a little better than we found it. Starbucks is a responsible company. We use 100% Fairtrade espresso beans, have partnerships with youth charities whilst being involved with local community support. At a larger scale we work with our C.A.F.E. Practices which is good for our coffee and partners we work with.
