    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

To support the Accounts department in relation to accounts team administration and postings

Main Duties Include:

  • To post all bank transactions into Sage, including the processing of cheques, Bacs payments, customer receipts and all other transactions.
  • To produce weekly bank reconciliations in a timely manner so accurate KPI?s can be produced.
  • To check purchase invoices against the purchase orders, resolve any disputes, gain authorisation by the Directors and post to Sage.
  • To reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis, by checking that all match for payment and ensuring that all invoices have been received so that the statements and Sage reconcile.
  • To invoice Mobile Patrol and Key Holder Responses on a weekly basis.
  • To Input time sheets details into excel for guards hours.
  • To input Petty Cash details.
  • To carry out Accounts Mailbox management and distribution to team.
  • To carry out any additional duties, as required.

  • Preferably with a solid Maths background.
  • Good Computer skills
  • Training will be provided in our accounting systems (Sage, VT, Excel)

  • Good organisational skills and be able to approach the work involved in a logical and methodical manner.

  • Smart and clean appearance 

Qualifications required

  • GCSE A to C in Maths and English or equivalent qualification.

Future prospects

On completion of the Intermediate Apprenticeship, individuals will have the opportunity to progress on to a relevant further or higher education qualification.

  • Qualification Credit Framework:  Apprentices will be required to undertake a day release programme in the classroom and complete a number of different units which each have a credit value in order to achieve the Level 2 Diploma in Accounting (Knowledge and Competence).
