Duties will include overlooking the whole process of sugar boiling, from controlling vacuums for sugar crystallisation to sampling and making sure sugar crystals are at specific sizes.

  • Mixing ingredients, managing and overseeing boiling
  • Incorporating colours and flavours (manually)
  • Managing and overseeing the production of sweets/lollies
  • Finishing of sweets - Some require crystalising (covering with sugar), others polishing etc
  • Quality control of the product
  • Any other duties required by the production manager

Qualifications required

  • Have strong literacy/numeracy skills (grade C or above in English/Maths or equivalent desirable)
  • Full training will be provided on the sugar boiling side

Future prospects

Full time permanent employment and increase in wage. After 6 months service pay will rise to £8.50 and after 1 year £9

Things to consider

Candidates are responsible for making their own lunch and travel arrangements. As shifts will start at 6.15 it is advisable that you have a method of transport or you will live local.
