Working in a friendly atmosphere in a modern office with excellent potential for progression.  This is a varied job where no two days will be the same.

The following list is designed to provide an indicative list of the key roles and responsibilities required to perform this job:

First line support with regards to all IT issues:

  • Respond to resolve incoming IT support issues, both from the remote management team and head office staff, with issues such as: Hardware & Printer issues,Software issues,Server connection issues,Management system issues
  • Report on IT queries, including users & resolution
  • Where applicable escalate issues to our external I.T Specialist and assist where necessary

Manage and maintain the company’s IT inventory (i.e. laptops, iPads & mobile phones):

  • Ensure that all devices are kept up to date
  • Report on excessive usage
  • Deal with third party suppliers where necessary (i.e. mobile phone supplier)
  • Keep up to date records of inventory
  • Manage the company’s mobile device management software for mobile phones and tablet computers

Hardware configuration:

  • Work in conjunction with our remote IT Specialist to configure new company hardware before issuing to staff

Systems training:

  • Carry out all user training for aspects of Templa CMS
  • Provide general application training to all users

Management & implementation of company systems:

  • Provide technical support to all users for the company’s bespoke management system, Templa CMS. This will require a high level of knowledge throughout the system to support all departments
  • Assist with the implementation on new modules for Templa CMS
  • Carry out systems training for all users on Templa CMS
  • Carry out reporting requirements for all users by configuring and running reports from Templa CMS. Export and format results in Microsoft Excel as necessary
  • Investigate improvements to existing reporting processes, including the possible integration of Crystal Reports
  • Design and configure dashboards for each user within Templa CMS

Manage the company’s social media accounts & website:

  • Schedule new posts by obtaining content from all members of staff
  • Update the company website on wordpress and obtain possible new content, including blog posts, from all users

Microsoft Excel:

  • Provide assistance to users with financial calculation spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and troubleshoot issues with formulas

IT Security:

  • Promote a safe ‘IT’ working culture with guidelines of how to stay safe with emails, internet, passwords & general security issues
  • Possible visits required to client sites in London to support ‘remote’ members of staff

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • General IT skills, including use of computers, tablets and smart phones

Personal qualities

  • Forward thinking, keen to develop, pro-active nature, able to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Qualifications required

  • Ideally A-C grades in Maths and English (but not essential), equivalent qualifications also acceptable

Future prospects

Aim is for the position to become full time at the end of the apprenticeship with plenty of chance for progression in the future Opportunity to progress to next level of study upon completion
